WYOmericana Caravan Captures Textures of the West and Beyond

Thick skin, grit and perseverance are common threads among the featured singer-songwriters.

WYOmericana Caravan’s Aaron Davis is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and vocalist that works the lesser-worn corners of the American musical fabric. Self-taught on an array of instruments—electric, acoustic and resonator guitars, banjo, lap steel, harmonica, mandolin, pedal steel, bass, and cigar box percussion—Davis’ songs feature unique storytelling inspired by the wide-open landscapes of the West.

Davis has a full resume. He is one half of longtime alt-folk-rock band Screen Door Porch, has an eclectic solo project, Aaron Davis & the Mystery Machine, and operates Three Hearted Recording Studio in Hoback, Wyoming.  He is also co-founder of the WYOmericana Caravan tour which recently embarked on its sixth anniversary of concert dates across Wyoming.

In advance of the WYOmericana Caravan’s stop at the Silver Dollar Thursday, October 1, Davis joined us in the KHOL studio to discuss the grit of Wyoming musicians and the unique chemistry that swirls through the tour.
