With former Allman Brothers guitarist Dickey Betts for a father, and guitar god Duane Allman for a namesake, it’s no surprise that Duane Betts picked up the electric guitar.

Born in Sarasota, Florida, Betts grew up on the road with The Allman Brothers Band and got to play with them for the first time on stage at age 16 in Vail, Colorado and just a few years later on stage at the Woodstock ’94 music festival.

Duane Betts is now a Jackson resident, having moved here after he met his wife at the Aspens Market. KHOL DJ Kevin Pusey spoke with Betts about his new release “Bless Your Heart” recorded at the famed Muscles Shoals Studio.
