It is a conversation that has oscillated between health concerns and federal overreach.

On Monday, Jackson Town Council passed a 5G ordinance 3-1. It was in response to a mandate by the Federal Communications Commission. That mandate requires cities to comply with an impending 5G roll out.

With 5G, or fifth generation technology, the telecommunications industry promises faster data speeds and connectivity, and a new technological chapter of progress.

So what does the 5G roll out mean for Jackson?
