Walt Farmer was one of the original KHOL DJs, part of a core crew that helped to get this station going. He was passionate about  music, veteran’s affairs and astronomy.

You might remember him from his KHOL show that featured Big Bandsfrom the 40s and 50s.  Or if you were an early KHOL listener, you might remember way back when Walt did  a show on world music.

Here’s an example of the type of show he did for KHOL. This is a promo he wrote for one of his shows:

Swingtime in Jackson Hole (hosted by Walt Farmer) will present a Spotlight Show, saluting music of the Glenn Miller Orchestra.  The 2012 orchestra will be playing in Pinedale on Oct. 5, and Walt hopes you’ll tune in this Sunday to hear Glenn’s original music, some of the current orchestra’s renditions, and some of Glenn’s hits as performed by other big bands.  Swingtime is from 10am to Noon, every Sunday on KHOL.

The JHWeekly (aka The Planet) wrote a poignant piece that illustrates all the ways that Walt was involved in the Jackson Hole community.

Walt, you will be missed.  From your friends at KHOL.
