Update: Police reported on May 27 that McPhee had been found in Idaho. The original post is preserved below:

The Jackson Police Department is asking for help finding James McPhee, who reportedly worked inside Grand Teton National Park. The department released a poster on May 27 after McPhee failed to show up for two shifts. McPhee is not a federal park worker, according to Emily Davis, park spokesperson. That means he may work for a concessionaire.

The 52-year-old was last seen on May 25, Memorial Day, near downtown Jackson. The police report states he may be wearing an Indiana Jones-style hat and may be experiencing a crisis. The public can contact the Jackson Police Department with any information about his whereabouts.

Lt. Russ Ruschill said in a text this is likely the first ask for the public’s help in a missing person case since 2024. The person in that case was found safe in another state.
