KHOL is in the midst of a year-long effort in our community to bring strangers with different political beliefs together for a conversation. This is part of a nationwide initiative led by StoryCorps that seeks to mend political divisions – and find common ground. KHOL is one of five stations participating in this effort around the country in 2023.
KHOL paired Cindy Budge and Dave Loy, two longtime Jackson residents who surprisingly didn’t know one another, for a conversation. Budge is a Democrat and Loy is a Republican. After 40 years of living in the same small town, they finally met at the Center for the Arts in August. Listen above for a snippet of their One Small Step Conversation.
