David Gelles, New York Times climate reporter and author of “Dirtbag Billionaire,” chronicles the life of Yvon Chouinard, the founder of Patagonia, detailing his journey from a dirtbag climber to a billionaire who ultimately gave away his company and its profits to fight climate change. The book explores how Chouinard built a billion-dollar brand known for environmental activism, his complex relationship with capitalism and his radical decision to transfer ownership to a trust to redirect profits to environmental causes, challenging traditional business models.
