A large portion of Jackson’s Latino community can trace their origins back to the Mexican state of Tlaxcala. In many ways, Jackson and Tlaxcala are already sisters, sharing similar landscapes, weather and deep connections between their residents. But now there’s a movement led by local activist Alyson Spery to make the two communities official diplomatic sisters.
