This is the first installment of “Quarantined Regards,” a series exploring the ways artists are creating during the COVID-19 pandemic.

From Zoom concerts to Instagram videos, artists are responding to social isolation and connecting with their audiences in a multitude of creative ways. KHOL talked with Shivyon Mitchell about her project “Six Feet Away,” a photo series that depicts Jackson residents during the first few weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic. To observe social distancing recommendations, she took all the photos from six feet away.

In a newly isolated world, Mitchell, a nurse and wedding photographer, found human connection and inspiration during this project. Listen above for more.
