On Tuesday night, under antler arches cloaked in Christmas lights, people from near and far bundled in their heaviest winter coats held candles and conversed. But they weren’t there to celebrate the holiday season. They were gathered to support the impeachment of President Donald Trump ahead of a historic impeachment vote today in the House of Representatives. People waved signs that implored Congress to “do the right thing.” Other signs were more pointed. “Jail to the chief,” one read.
Despite temperatures dipping into the negative, the rally drew roughly 60 people to Jackson’s town square. It was nearly twice the number of folks who attended an anti-impeachment rally in the same place two months ago.
Listen above for more.
