Thirty-nine households submitted comments to elected officials saying they want workforce housing at 440 West Kelly. Meanwhile, 31 opposed it. So why did the latter prevail yet again on Monday?

The debate surrounding 16 units of workforce housing at 440 West Kelly shows how housing the local workforce is becoming an increasingly fraught exercise, namely because of vocal neighbors who don’t want that housing in their neighborhoods. A meeting on Monday illustrated this when officials disagreed yet again on how to move forward.
