As the year comes to an end, so does our StoryCorps initiative to connect Jackson Hole locals for one-on-one conversations. One Small Step brings people with different beliefs and backgrounds to talk and discover common ground.

One of the most contentious issues in the U.S. – and in Wyoming – is reproductive rights. Since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022, abortion access has been in question in Wyoming. The state’s repeated attempts to ban most abortions have landed in court, which has continued to keep abortion legal in Wyoming.

One Small Step conversation partners Kara Linn (60), an executive head hunter from Casper and Susan Mick (64) a retired math teacher from Jackson sat down together for an in-person conversation at the Teton County Library. They discussed their ideas about education, feminism, abortion, mainstream media, and their families. As we will hear, they both feel passionately about how our state should legislate on abortion.

Listen here for a snippet of their conversation or to the full conversation on StoryCorps’ website.
