How does artistic talent and potential become more than just that? What’s it like to have a lineage in literature (including the great Nathaniel Hawthorne)? What would the disappearance of animals mean to human imagination? Alison Hawthorne Deming joined us to delve into these questions and more. She also shared a poem from her forthcoming collection of poems Death Valley: Painted Light.

She is in Jackson as part of the JH Writers Conference taking place June 23rd-25th at the Center for the Arts.
