People looking for a clear picture of crime statistics in Wyoming won’t find accurate numbers. In her recent reporting, Emily Mieure focused on this problem and how it affects people and law enforcement agencies throughout the state, including Jackson and Teton County.

The Jackson Hole News&Guide reporter found that in 2018 more than 10 counties didn’t report crime data to Wyoming’s Department of Criminal Investigation. But, Mieure said, this isn’t a new problem. In fact, it’s been on her radar “for the last couple years.”

Mieure explained why this is happening and what it means for citizens and law enforcement.
