Police announced Friday evening that Briagene Collins, 30, has been found safe in another state after leads connected Jackson Police Department with a potential employer in another state. Police did not name that state out of respect for her privacy, a press release said.
News of Collins’ disappearance took a month to emerge. The Jackson Police Department didn’t post about her on its Facebook page on Oct. 14, a month after her last sighting at the 49’er Inn where she worked for about a year. Police did not send out a press release about her disappearance, but did notify the media in a press release of her being found safe in another state on Nov. 1.
Before learning of her location, Lt. Russ Ruschill said his department was leaving open the possibility that Collins did not want to be found. She has a history of living in different resort towns for about a year before moving on.
