In the age of COVID, the absence of live music has been difficult to endure. This weekend, a socially distanced music festival breaks the silence. On Friday and Saturday, Highland Music, in collaboration with KHOL, presents Spaced Out Summer Sessions at The Spud in Driggs, Idaho.
This two-day event will showcase valley musicians in a large concert format. For attendees, there will be plenty of space to enjoy your favorite local artists from a distance. For folks at home, the concert will be broadcasted live on KHOL. Tune in from 3 to 11 p.m. on Friday and 1 to 11 p.m. on Saturday.
The bands set to perform include Duane Betts and Friends, The Deadlocks, One Ton Pig, 86, Strumbucket, Inland Isle, JCB Plays JGB, Sghetti (featuring members of Sneaky Pete), Batdorf and Brother Wolf, and The Canyon Kids.
Strange times call for adaptation. So limited tickets and spaced out parking will ensure people keep a safe distance from each other. Bands will also stay safe with a two-stage setup for alternating acts, backstage distancing, and onstage precautions.
