On Friday, nearly 50 students gathered in town square and marched up and down the block to demand swift action on climate change. They held signs that read “there is no planet b”; “don’t frack with my future” and “the time is now.” Protesters joined young people from across the globe who skipped school on Friday to protest what they see as the government’s failure to address climate change. While the protesters were global in their ambition, they were local in much of their messaging.
